About MeMy name is Kayla Pulliam and I am now a senior at UNC- Wilmington. I am majoring in special education, the adapted curriculum. i want to be an inspiration to all people and focus on all of the things that make us shine! Before I graduate I want to try surfing and I want to go camping on the beach. After graduation, I want to teach students with severe and profound disabilities and prepare them to live a full life with their non-disabled peers.
Family is probably one of the most important things in my life. My mother is my best friend and my dad is my biggest headache, but he sure does know how to make me laugh. My four brothers and sister are some of my biggest sideline supporters. My nieces and nephews make the hardest days bearable with just a giggle. I am also a sporty person. I LOVE sports. I am a member of the club basketball team, but I am game for almost any sport! |
My Favorite Quote and Some Advice |
"Education does not prepare you for the rest of your life; education is the rest of your life."- Emily Buchanan
A teacher once told me that quote and it has never been more true. With that being said, my advice to you is take as much from college as possible. We pay to be here, so take advantage of all the opportunities to be involved and learn something new. Take advantage of all the things campus has to offer you, because something you learn now can take you a long way in life. In the classroom and outside, learn as much as possible. |
My Favorite Tradition at UNCW |
My favorite tradition, hands down, is midnight madness. On the opening day of basketball season, what seems like all of UNCW get together and make their way to the gym covered in face paint and drenched in school spirit to see the men and women's basketball team kick off the season. It is an amazing experience and atmosphere. You meet tons of new people, have a chance to experience new things, and of course FREE STUFF!
